Four Seasons A/C Trinary Switch P/N:20991
Keep your A/C compressor and cooling fan responding to refrigerant pressure with the Four Seasons A/C Trinary Pressure Switch, part number 20048. It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications on the 1993-1997 Nissan Altima and the 1993-1996 Infiniti G20. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine details.
This system-mounted switch monitors refrigerant pressure in the A/C system and combines three jobs in one unit. It is designed to stop compressor operation when pressure is too low or too high, and to help control the cooling fan as pressure rises. Four Seasons engineers and tests its switches and brings over 50 years of mobile A/C experience.
A trinary switch may need replacing if the A/C compressor will not engage or cycles erratically, if the cooling fan does not respond with the A/C on, or if the vents blow warm air. Low refrigerant or an electrical fault can cause the same signs, so diagnose the system before you replace the switch.

What does an A/C trinary pressure switch do?
It monitors A/C refrigerant pressure and combines three functions. It is designed to stop compressor operation at low or excessive high pressure and to help control the cooling fan as pressure rises.
Which vehicles does the Four Seasons 20048 fit?
It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed 1993-1997 Nissan Altima and 1993-1996 Infiniti G20 applications. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine details.
What comes with the switch?
The switch comes with the gaskets, O-rings or seals needed to properly replace the original. It is zinc coated to resist corrosion and color coded for easy identification.
What are signs the A/C trinary switch may be failing?
Look for a compressor that won't engage or cycles erratically, a cooling fan that doesn't respond with the A/C on, or warm vent air. Low refrigerant can cause the same signs, so diagnose the system first.
Do I need to recover refrigerant to install it?
It depends on how the switch mounts. Follow the vehicle service information, and have a certified technician recover and recharge the refrigerant if the system must be opened.
