Keep coolant moving through the engine with the Airtex Engine Water Pump AW4078, a direct-fit Probe water pump that drops in as a replacement on the 1993-1997 Ford Probe (L4-2.0L), 1993-2002 Mazda 626 (L4-2.0L), 1993-1997 Mazda MX-6 (L4-2.0L), 1999-2000 Mazda Protege (L4-1.8L), 2001-2003 Mazda Protege (L4-2.0L) and 2002-2003 Mazda Protege5 (L4-2.0L). Does this water pump fit a Ford Probe?

Yes. This Ford Probe water pump is a direct-fit replacement for the 1993-1997 Ford Probe with the L4-2.0L engine, plus several Mazda 626, MX-6, Protege and Protege5 applications.

Is a pulley, fan clutch or back housing included?

No. The AW4078 is supplied as the pump only — a fan clutch, pulley and back housing are not included. Transfer or replace those parts as directed by the vehicle service procedure.

What is the housing and impeller made of?

The housing is aluminum and the impeller is steel with 6 vanes, built with unitized bearings, a pressed-on hub and unitized seals set to optimal impeller clearance.

How is this pump driven?

The water pump drive type is serpentine belt; the belt turns the pump so its impeller circulates coolant between the engine and radiator.
