The sensor measures the changing distance between the road and the vehicle's chassis and sends that information to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU then signals the air suspension compressor to add or release air in the air struts as needed, which helps keep the vehicle level. If the original sensor has failed, this OES unit is intended to return the suspension's ability to respond to road conditions.
