Description

Keep power-assisted steering firm and responsive with the Atlantic Automotive Engineering (AAE) New Hydraulic Power Steering Pump 5544VN, a direct-fit replacement for a failed factory unit on the 2001-2004 Subaru Outback [All]. This is a new pump — not a remanufactured core — built to meet or exceed OE specifications in performance, fit, and function, and it ships without a core charge.

100% tested in the USA: each unit is hydraulically tested under load prior to shipment and held to strict production standards.
Ready to install: the press-on pulley is included, the sensor is preinstalled, and a return pipe adapter is included. It is supplied without a reservoir and uses a remote reservoir.
Aluminum housing with a 16.0 mm inlet (clamp-on hose barb) and a 14.0 mm banjo outlet.
Standard replacement grade; mounting hardware is not included — consult the vehicle service information for the correct fasteners and whether they may be reused.

It is highly recommended to replace the steering fluid reservoir when installing the pump, since a clogged reservoir can starve the replacement. Flush and fill the system with an OE-approved power steering fluid. Country of origin: China.
