Dorman - First Stop Brake Master Cylinder P/N:M630759
Turn pedal effort into hydraulic braking pressure with the Dorman First Stop Brake Master Cylinder M39298, a new cast-iron unit designed to match the design, function and performance of the original master cylinder. It fits many Volvo models, among them the 1978-1981 Volvo 262, 1990-1991 Volvo 240 and 1975-1989 Volvo 244, and is a direct-fit replacement for all engines on those models. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.
The master cylinder sends brake fluid under pressure through its two outlets to the brake lines each time the pedal is pressed. If a worn or leaking master cylinder is behind a spongy or sinking pedal, this unit replaces it.
Specifications: two outlets. The rearward and secondary outlet threads are M10 x 1.0, and the primary outlet thread pitch is 1 mm. The package contains the master cylinder only. The reservoir, sensor and mounting hardware are not included. Country of origin: Taiwan.
Bench-bleed the new master cylinder before installation. Follow the vehicle service information for transferring or replacing the reservoir and for the correct fasteners.

This part cross-references / interchanges with the following part numbers:
Will this work as a Volvo 240 master cylinder?
Yes. It is listed as a direct-fit replacement for the 1990-1991 Volvo 240 with all engines, one per vehicle. The Buyer's Guide tab shows the other listed Volvo models.
What does a brake master cylinder do?
It converts force from the brake pedal into hydraulic pressure. It then sends brake fluid through its two outlets to the brake lines, which carry that pressure to the wheel brakes.
What comes in the box?
The package contains the master cylinder only. The reservoir, sensor and mounting hardware are not included, so transfer or replace them as the vehicle service procedure directs.
What are the material and outlet specs?
The housing is cast iron and has two outlets. The rearward and secondary outlet threads are M10 x 1.0, and the rubber components use EPDM compound that resists glycol-based brake fluid.
What are signs a master cylinder may need replacing?
A spongy or slowly sinking brake pedal, fluid leaking at the master cylinder, or a brake warning light can be signs. Other brake faults cause these too, so diagnose the cause before replacing.
