Description

Keep your parking brake connected and working with the Dorman - First Stop Parking Brake Cable C660112. This cable transmits the force from the parking brake lever or pedal to the rear wheel brake mechanism, so the system can be applied and released. It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 2001-2002 Ford Ranger in the rear left position.

Mechanical link: Carries the applied force from the parking brake actuator to the rear brake, holding the vehicle when engaged.
Rear left fitment: Cataloged for the rear left position on the listed application.
Replacement job: Swaps in for an original cable that has frayed, corroded, stretched, or begun to bind.

Signs the cable may need replacing include a parking brake that won't hold, won't fully release, or feels loose, slack, or notchy when set — inspect the cable and related hardware to confirm the cause before replacing. Consult the vehicle service information for the correct routing and any related fasteners, and whether they may be reused.
