When a worn-out or broken cable leaves the hood latch unresponsive, the Dorman - HD Solutions Hood Release Cable / Hood Restraint Cable, part number 924-5503, is durably built to take its place. It fits many Volvo trucks, among them the 2004-2018 Volvo VHD, 2004-2018 Volvo VNL and 2004-2018 Volvo VNM. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of applications.
This heavy-duty hood release cable assembly links the hood release handle to the latch and carries the pull that releases the hood. It is listed under both names, Hood Release Cable and Hood Restraint Cable, so you may find it under either one.
- Direct replacement: made to match the original cable on the listed applications.
- Durable construction: manufactured within strict tolerances for reliable longevity.
- Cost-effective solution: comparable quality at a lower cost than a replacement bought at the dealership.
- Trustworthy value: backed by a team of engineers and quality control experts in the United States.
Signs this part may need replacing include a hood that won't release when the handle is pulled, a handle that feels slack or loose, or a cable that is frayed, kinked or binding. If the cable is the cause, 924-5503 replaces it. Check the latch and handle as well before ordering.
