The shifter cable links the gear selector to the transmission's shift lever. When it stretches, binds or breaks, you may notice a loose or sloppy shift lever, a gear indicator that no longer lines up with the gear engaged, or trouble moving the lever out of Park. Other shift-linkage parts can cause similar symptoms, so diagnose the cause before replacing. If the original cable is the cause, the 905-643 replaces it. Follow the vehicle service information for routing, adjustment and installation.
