Keep the rear wheel properly located with the Dorman Lateral Link / Lateral Arm and Ball Joint Assembly 522-172, a direct replacement for the 2007-2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2007-2012 Hyundai Veracruz and 2011-2013 Kia Sorento. It is cataloged for the rear lower forward position, and the lateral arm and ball joint come together as one assembly. The part is listed under both names, lateral link and lateral arm. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine details.

  • Direct replacement: designed to fit and perform like the original equipment on the listed vehicles.
  • Reliable fit: precision-engineered to match the design and dimensions of the original components.
  • Durable construction: built to strict standards using sturdy, safe materials.
  • Rigorously tested: put through thorough quality control checks aimed at longevity.

The lateral arm helps position the rear wheel as the suspension moves. The ball joint gives it a pivot point. Wear in either can show up as clunking or knocking from the rear over bumps, a loose or wandering feel, or uneven tire wear. These are signs the assembly may need replacing. Diagnose the cause first. If a worn arm or ball joint is to blame, replacing 522-172 replaces both at once. Having the wheel alignment checked after installation is recommended.
