Dorman - OE Solutions Leaf Spring Shackle P/N:722-018
Get ahead of fatigued or rusted shackles before they become a safety concern with the Dorman leaf spring shackle, part number 722-009, a rear leaf spring shackle kit that links the end of the leaf spring to the vehicle frame. It fits many vehicles, among them the 1991-2001 Ford Explorer, 2001-2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and 2002-2003 Ford Explorer Sport, and it installs in the rear, rearward position.
A shackle lets the leaf spring's length change as the spring flexes over bumps, so the spring can move freely while it stays attached to the frame. If a worn or corroded original shackle is causing clunking or squeaking from the rear suspension, this kit replaces it.
See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of applications.
