Dorman - OE Solutions Steering Shaft P/N:425-354
Dorman 425-217 lower steering shaft for the 2011-2018 Ram 4500 and other vehicles carries turning input from the steering column to the steering gear. It is a direct replacement for the original shaft.
A loose or notchy steering feel, or a clunk when you turn, can come from a worn shaft or its universal joint, though other steering parts are possible sources too. With the engine off, look the shaft and joint over for rust, cracks or play; if the shaft is the cause, this one replaces it.
This shaft also fits the 2011-2018 Ram 5500 and the 2008-2010 Dodge Ram 4500, and each of them takes one. If your truck is not named here, open the "Vehicles it fits" section to check your exact model and engine.
