Because a leaking or "open" system can saturate the desiccant bag within a few hours and render the drier ineffective, replacing this component is essential whenever the A/C system is serviced. Four Seasons notes that replacement is also required to validate the compressor warranty. Backed by decades of mobile A/C manufacturing experience, this filter drier is produced in an ISO/TS16949 and ISO14001 certified facility.
What does this receiver / filter drier do?
It acts as a filter, removing moisture and contaminants from the A/C system through a desiccant bag. These contaminants cannot be removed by flushing, so replacing the drier is essential.
Which vehicles does part 33471 fit?
It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1980-1982 and 1984-1988 MACK MS200P, 1981 and 1983-1988 MACK MS250P, and 1981-1988 MACK MS300P and MS300T Mid-Liner trucks. See the Buyer's Guide tab.
Are seals included for installation?
Yes. The necessary gaskets, o-rings and seal are included for installation.
What is it made of?
It is a steel filter drier built with quality welds for a durable, leak-free design.
When should the drier be replaced?
Four Seasons advises replacing it anytime the A/C system is serviced, and notes replacement is required to validate the compressor warranty. A leaking or open system can saturate the desiccant within hours.
