Route coolant between the water outlet and the thermostat housing with the Gates HVAC Heater Hose 51977 — a GATES heater hose built as a modular coolant hose assembly for specific applications. It fits the 2013-2020 Ford Fusion, 2013-2018 Ford C-MAX, 2013-2017 and 2019-2020 Lincoln MKZ, plus the 2020 Ford Police Responder Hybrid and 2020 Ford SSV Plug-In Hybrid; see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment.

It meets SAE 20R3 EC Class D1 under 25 mm (1 in.) ID and SAE 20R4 EC Class D1 for 25 mm (1 in.) ID and over, with a temperature range of -40°F to +257°F (-40°C to +125°C). Gates recommends installing new clamps whenever a coolant hose is replaced. Do not use this hose for fuel or oil transfer applications.
