Keep the back end of your van planted with the KYB shock absorber KG5492, a high-pressure monotube gas unit built as a direct-fit rear shock for the 1989-1997 Ford Aerostar. This is the KYB Gas-a-just design, whose components and valving were engineered specifically for the Aerostar to deliver responsive damping on a vehicle that works, tows, and may run larger, heavier tires and wheels.

Unlike a traditional twin-tube shock, the monotube layout separates the gas and oil into two working chambers: an air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for control, plus a high-pressure nitrogen chamber with a floating piston. Because the fluid stays air-free, this KYB gas shock absorber is designed to resist fade from aeration and respond instantly.
