Sold individually; order 2 to replace the front upper joints on both sides as a matched pair. Manufacturer part number MK6540. Always diagnose the cause of any steering or tire-wear symptom before replacing.
Where does this ball joint mount?
It is the front upper suspension ball joint, connecting the upper control arm to the steering knuckle so the suspension can articulate while the wheels steer.
Will it fit my vehicle?
It is a direct-fit replacement for many 1999-2014 GM trucks, SUVs and vans such as the Silverado 1500, Sierra 1500, Tahoe, Suburban 1500, Yukon, Escalade and Express 1500. Check the Buyer's Guide tab.
How many do I need?
It is sold individually. Since the front upper joints wear at a similar rate, replacing both sides together as a matched pair is recommended for balanced handling.
What are the signs of a worn ball joint?
Clunking over the front end on acceleration or turns, wandering or loose steering, vibration, and uneven front tire wear can indicate a worn front upper ball joint.
Does replacing this fix my steering issue?
If a worn front upper ball joint is the cause, this replaces it. Because these symptoms can have other causes, diagnose the front suspension before replacing parts.
