A tie rod end connects the steering linkage to the steering knuckle so that steering input turns the wheel. Mevotech engineers its TTX line for high-usage commercial and passenger vehicles, SUVs, fleets and working trucks. This steering tie rod end uses Labor Saver designs and hardware that are intended to make installation faster and easier.

• Maximum toughness: Patented sintered bearings are designed for longer-lasting performance.
• Locks out contaminants: A patented sealing ring permanently locks the boot onto the ball joint housing.
• Quick installation and a stronger bond: A part-specific slotted castle nut and an easy snap cotter pin are provided to secure the ball joint to the vehicle. Pre-applied nylok thread adhesive helps keep the fasteners secure and resistant to vibration.
• Serviceable, larger-sphere design: An included 180-degree SAE grease fitting makes the joint simple to service. It uses an application-specific ball stud system with a larger sphere.

Signs this part may need replacing include loose or wandering steering, excess play in the steering wheel, clunking or knocking when turning, and uneven tire wear. Diagnose the cause before you replace parts. A wheel alignment is typically recommended after a tie rod end is replaced.
