Smooth out the ride and keep your classic Ford truck's rear axle in check with the Rancho shock absorber RS55009, a rear-position unit from the RS5000X series. It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 1970-1979 Ford F-100, 1975-1979 Ford F-150 and 1970-1979 Ford F-250, and it's built with Rancho's Cross Tuned technology — an exclusive rebound valving system paired with an advanced compression phase intended to improve handling on and off road.

  • Cross Tuned & Progressive Engagement Valving: custom-tuned for the application to help reduce initial low-speed impacts and minimize a rough ride.
  • Strong, durable build: 16 mm nitro-carburized piston rod to resist scuffs and corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas, a 35 mm sintered iron piston and a polyvinyl protective boot.
  • Large twin-tube body: a 2¼-inch twin-tube body filled with all-weather fluid designed for cooler operation across internal temperatures from -40 to 248°F.
  • Nitrogen charged: pressurized to 150 PSI to minimize air-to-oil mixing and help reduce damping fade and foaming.

A polyurethane rebound bumper, rubber bushings, fluon-banded piston and low-friction self-lubricating seal round out the design. Backed by Rancho's Limited Lifetime Warranty.
