This 17.48-inch gas-charged lift support drops in as a direct-fit replacement for the 2008-2012 Ford Escape, 2008-2011 Mazda Tribute, and 2008-2011 Mercury Mariner — see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level detail. When a tired support won't hold the glass up or slams it shut, this Lift-O-Mat unit helps restore smooth, damped operation.

Dynamic damping speed control: a velocity-manifold groove pressed into the tube wall meters gas flow around the piston for a fluid opening motion with no bouncing or jerking during cycling.
