Raise your hood with a smooth, controlled motion using the Stabilus Hood Lift Support 2B-033948, a 28.74-inch gas-charged lift support featuring the brand's Lift-O-Mat dynamic damping. It's a direct-fit replacement for the 2010-2013 Volkswagen Golf, 2012-2013 Volkswagen Golf R, 2010-2013 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen, 2010-2014 Volkswagen GTI, and 2010-2013 Volkswagen Jetta — see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment. When a worn support can no longer hold the hood up or opens with a bounce, this unit replaces it.

Dynamic damping: a velocity-manifold groove pressed into the tube wall routes gas around the piston for a fluid opening motion, with no bouncing or jerking during cycling.
Gentle stop: the groove narrows toward the end of the stroke for a controlled, low-impact stop.
