Keep the hood raised steadily and open it with a smooth, controlled motion using the Stabilus Hood Lift Support 4B-897962. This gas-charged lift support drops in as a direct-fit replacement for the 2009-2014 Acura TL — see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment details. Measuring 16.08 inches, it uses Stabilus Lift-O-Mat technology, in which a longitudinal groove (a velocity manifold) pressed into the tube wall lets gas flow around the piston with extension speed and damping engineered for this application, so the hood rises with a fluid, jerk-free motion and settles to a gentle, controlled stop.
