Description

Keep the hood propped open steadily and cushion its rise with the Stabilus Hood Lift Support 5B-561183, a gas-charged Lift-O-Mat strut that drops in as a direct-fit replacement for the 2011-2017 BMW X3 and 2015-2018 BMW X4 (see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment). Measuring 11.77 inches, it uses dynamic damping speed control to raise and hold the hood with a smooth, controlled motion.

Dynamic damping speed control: a velocity-manifold groove pressed into the tube wall channels gas around the piston for a fluid opening motion with no bouncing or jerking during cycling.
