Raise and hold your hood with a smooth, controlled motion using the Stabilus Hood Lift Support 5B-967989, a 12.13-inch gas-charged lift support with dynamic speed control. It drops in as a direct-fit replacement for the 2016-2020 Kia Sorento (see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment), holding the hood open and helping ease it through its opening and closing cycle.

Dynamic damping speed control: creates a fluid opening motion with no bouncing or jerking during cycling.
Lift-O-Mat by Stabilus: uses a longitudinal groove (velocity manifold) pressed into the tube wall, letting gas flow around the piston with extension speed and damping engineered for this specific application; the groove narrows toward the end of the stroke for a gentle, controlled stop.
