It drops in as a direct-fit replacement for the 2012-2018 Toyota Prius V (see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment), measuring 24.23 inches. This is a Lift-O-Mat by Stabilus, which uses a longitudinal groove — a velocity manifold — pressed into the tube wall so gas flows around the piston with extension speed and damping engineered for this application; the groove narrows toward the end of the stroke for a gentle, controlled stop.
