Standard Ignition Back Up Light Switch P/N:LS-257
If a failed back-up light switch is why your reverse lamps stay dark, this Standard Ignition switch, the Back-Up Light Switch LS-252, is designed to replace it. It is a replacement for the 1991-1998 Ford Escort. It completes the back-up light circuit when reverse is selected, so the lamps light up to warn drivers and pedestrians behind the vehicle.
Signs this part may need replacing: back-up lights that stay dark in reverse, lights that remain on out of reverse, or lamps that work only intermittently. Bulbs, fuses and wiring can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the circuit before replacing the switch. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-specific application details.
