Hold a steady curb idle and help prevent engine run-on with the Standard Ignition Carburetor Idle Stop Solenoid (MPN ES110). It mounts to the carburetor as a direct-fit replacement for a wide range of 1977-1989 GM vehicles, including the 1977-1981 Buick Century, 1977-1983 and 1986-1987 Buick Regal, 1977-1988 Chevrolet Caprice, 1977-1987 Chevrolet El Camino, and 1977-1981 and 1984-1988 Chevrolet Corvette — see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of 171 applications.
Function: When energized with the key on, it positions the throttle at the correct curb idle; when the key is switched off it de-energizes and lets the throttle close, helping limit dieseling (run-on).
Signs it may need replacing: engine run-on after shutoff, unstable or incorrect idle, or an idle that drops when the solenoid loses power — diagnose the cause before replacing.
