Standard Ignition Distributor Vacuum Advance P/N:VC-373
Help your distributor add spark advance as designed with the Standard Ignition distributor vacuum advance, part number VC-215. It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications, which span many vehicles, among them the 1977-1980 Ford F-150, 1979-1982 Ford Mustang and 1977-1980 Ford F-250.
This distributor vacuum advance control uses engine vacuum acting on an internal diaphragm to move the distributor's advance mechanism. It adds ignition advance during light-load, part-throttle driving and lets timing return as vacuum drops.
A leaking diaphragm, hesitation or sluggish response at part throttle, or reduced fuel economy may be signs this part needs replacing. These symptoms can have other causes, so diagnose the system before you replace the unit.
The VC-215 covers many Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list and engine details.
