QuickSteer Suspension Ball Joint P/N:K500073
Help bring back confident steering and handling with the QuickSteer suspension ball joint K8036, a front upper ball joint designed and tested to restore steering and handling to their original performance. It fits many classic Ford and Mercury vehicles, among them the 1964-1970 Ford Mustang, 1962-1969 Ford Fairlane and 1963-1969 Ford Falcon.
A ball joint is the pivot between the control arm and the steering knuckle. It lets the wheel turn as you steer while moving up and down with the suspension. The K8036 is designed for OE fit and function in the front upper position.
A worn Falcon ball joint, or one on any of the listed vehicles, can show up as clunking over bumps, loose or wandering steering, or uneven tire wear. If the front upper ball joint turns out to be the cause, this QuickSteer unit replaces it and helps restore vehicle handling. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of vehicles.
What does a front upper ball joint do?
It forms the pivot between the upper control arm and the steering knuckle. This lets the wheel turn with the steering while it moves with the suspension.
Will this Mustang ball joint fit my 1967 Ford Mustang?
The K8036 is listed for the front upper position on the 1964-1970 Ford Mustang. Check the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm your exact vehicle.
Does the K8036 fit the Ford Fairlane or Falcon?
Yes. It is listed for the 1962-1969 Ford Fairlane and the 1963-1969 Ford Falcon. Many other Ford and Mercury models are shown in the Buyer's Guide tab.
Can this ball joint be greased?
Yes. It has a greaseable socket, so fresh lubricant can flush out contaminants and help reduce corrosion and wear. A premium boot helps keep dirt out.
What are signs a ball joint may need replacing?
Common signs include clunking over bumps, loose or wandering steering, play in the joint and uneven tire wear. Have the suspension inspected to confirm the cause before replacing parts.
