KYB Suspension Shock Absorber P/N:344338
Upgrade to a KYB shock absorber built for real work with the KYB MonoMax High Pressure Monotube Gas Shock 565092, a large-bore, heavy-duty monotube designed for the front of hard-working GM trucks. It installs as a direct-fit front replacement for applications including the 1988-1999 Chevrolet K1500, K2500 and K3500, the 1992-1999 Chevrolet K1500 Suburban, the 1992-1994 Chevrolet Blazer, the 1992-1999 GMC Yukon and the 1995-1999 Chevrolet Tahoe — see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of covered trucks and engines.
It's also engineered to help vehicles equipped with electronic safety systems such as ESC and ABS. Worn shocks can show up as poor control, excess body motion or bottoming out under load; if a failed front shock is the cause, this replaces it. Sold individually — order two to replace both front shocks together for balanced damping.
What vehicles does the KYB 565092 shock fit?
It's a front-position fit for GM trucks including the 1988-1999 Chevrolet K1500, K2500 and K3500, 1992-1999 K1500/K2500 Suburban, 1992-1994 Blazer, 1992-1999 GMC Yukon and 1995-1999 Tahoe. Check the Buyer's Guide tab for the complete list.
Is this KYB gas shock absorber a monotube design?
Yes. The KYB MonoMax 565092 is a high-pressure monotube gas shock — a heavy-duty, large-bore design intended for trucks that tow, haul heavy loads or go off-road.
How much better is the damping versus a standard shock?
KYB rates the MonoMax at up to 40% more damping performance than standard shock absorbers, adding stability for heavier or high-center-of-gravity vehicles.
Do I need to replace both front shocks?
This KYB shock absorber is sold individually. Replacing both front shocks together is recommended so damping stays balanced side to side.
What does the rubber boot do?
The rubber boot protects the shaft and helps keep dirt and debris away from the seals. The MonoMax also uses a zinc-coated stainless steel piston ring for a positive seal in extreme conditions.
