Each core is remanufactured and built for dependable service. An alternator converts engine belt rotation into the electrical current that recharges the battery and runs the vehicle's electrical systems while the engine is running. Dim or flickering lights, a repeatedly discharged battery, or an illuminated charging-system warning light can be signs the original alternator is wearing out. Made in Mexico.
What are this alternator's electrical specs?
It's a 12-volt unit rated at 55 amps, with clockwise (right-hand) rotation, negative ground, and an external voltage regulator.
Does the 7111 include a pulley and fan?
Yes. It comes with a single-groove conventional V-belt pulley (71 mm / 2-13/16 in outside diameter) and an external cooling fan; the unit is air-cooled.
Will this work as a Camaro alternator for a 1967-1968 Chevrolet Camaro 3.8L / 4.9L / 5.3L / 5.4L / 5.7L / 6.5L?
It's listed for the 1967-1968 Chevrolet Camaro with the L6-3.8L, V8-4.9L, V8-5.3L, V8-5.4L, V8-5.7L and V8-6.5L engines. Confirm your exact year and engine in the Buyer's Guide tab.
Is this alternator one-wire capable?
No. It uses an external voltage regulator, is not one-wire capable, and has no AC service tap. It is a brushed design with no decoupler or clutch pulley.
How can I tell if my alternator is failing?
Dim or flickering lights, a battery that keeps going dead, an illuminated charging-system warning light, or unusual noise may point to a worn alternator. Diagnose the charging system before replacing.
