An oxygen sensor measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas so the ECU can gauge combustion efficiency and adjust the air-fuel ratio.
- Wide-band sensing: determines the oxygen content of the exhaust gas to monitor the air-fuel ratio for combustion efficiency.
- Platinum electrodes: electrodes made of a gas-permeable platinum layer; the coating helps prevent contamination and erosion of the electrode surfaces from combustion residue and exhaust particulates.
- Heated 5-wire unit: heated wide-band design with a threaded mounting and a 22 mm wrench size.
- Connector: male square connector with female spade terminals on 20-gauge wiring and a 475 mm harness.
Standard-replacement grade, sold one per application. Signs the original may need replacing include a lit malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), a poorly running engine, or increased fuel consumption and emissions; also inspect the wiring harness and connector for physical damage.
