Silence driveline shudder and keep your transmission properly supported and located with the Anchor Rear Transmission Mount 2288. This rear-position mount cushions the transmission against the crossmember, isolating vibration and limiting powertrain movement, and it serves both automatic and manual transmission applications. It fits a broad list of 1968–1979 GM cars — including the 1975 Buick Apollo, 1971–1973 Buick Centurion, 1976–1977 Chevrolet Monza and Vega, 1977–1979 Oldsmobile 98 and Delta 88, 1975–1979 Pontiac Firebird, and 1968–1970 and 1974–1979 Pontiac LeMans. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full application list.

  • Supports and dampens: holds the rear of the transmission and dampens vibration for a smoother, quieter driveline.
  • Engineered to OE standards: designed using the latest CAD/CAM process for consistent quality and fit.
  • Durable rubber: molded from natural and Styrene Butadiene rubber that resists wear and stays stable as it ages, with Chemlock® bonding for a strong rubber-to-metal bond.
  • Application-matched hardness: rubber is manufactured to a specific Durometer (hardness) based on the vehicle application; any included fasteners are hardened, heat-treated Grade 5 bolts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this transmission mount do?

It supports the rear of the transmission and locates it on the crossmember while dampening vibration, helping isolate driveline movement and reduce noise transmitted into the body.

Is this a front or rear mount?

It is a rear transmission mount, positioned at the rear of the transmission where it meets the crossmember.

Does it fit automatic and manual transmissions?

Yes — this mount is listed for both automatic and manual transmission applications on the covered vehicles. Confirm your vehicle in the Buyer's Guide tab.

What are the signs this mount may need replacing?

Signs include clunking on acceleration, deceleration or shifting, added vibration at idle, and visibly cracked or separated rubber allowing excess powertrain movement.

What is the mount made of?

It uses natural and Styrene Butadiene rubber molded to an application-specific Durometer hardness, with a Chemlock® bonding agent for a strong rubber-to-metal bond.
