Pistons are built to resist cracking and pitting, and a plastic cap plug protects each brake port thread until installation. Because this is an unloaded caliper, brake pads are not included. Leaking brake fluid, a sticking or dragging caliper, and uneven pad wear are signs the original caliper may need replacing; if a failed caliper is the cause, this unit replaces it.
