Four Seasons A/C Accumulator P/N:83297
Keep clean, dry refrigerant moving through your air conditioning system with the Four Seasons A/C Accumulator, MPN 33053. It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 1991-1993 Ford Explorer and 1991-1993 Mazda Navajo. Positioned on the low-pressure side, the accumulator/filter drier stores refrigerant, traps moisture and contaminants, and helps protect the compressor during normal operation.
Backed by over 50 years of mobile A/C experience, Four Seasons produces its accumulator/filter driers in an ISO/TS16949 & ISO14001 certified facility. Replacing the accumulator/filter drier is required to validate compressor warranty and should be done anytime the system is opened or serviced. See the Buyer's Guide tab for full application details.
What does this A/C accumulator do?
It stores refrigerant on the low-pressure side and acts as a filter drier, removing moisture and contaminants from the air conditioning system to help protect the compressor.
Which vehicles does the Four Seasons 33053 fit?
It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1991-1993 Ford Explorer and 1991-1993 Mazda Navajo. Check the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm fitment for your vehicle.
Are seals included with this accumulator?
Yes. Per Four Seasons, the necessary gaskets, o-rings and seal are included for installation.
Why should the accumulator be replaced when servicing the A/C?
Flushing cannot remove trapped moisture and contaminants, and a saturated desiccant bag makes the unit ineffective. Four Seasons notes replacement is required to validate the compressor warranty.
How does it remove moisture from the system?
A desiccant bag inside absorbs moisture. If the system is left open or leaking, the bag can saturate within a few hours, so the unit should be replaced when the system is opened.
