What does this receiver drier / desiccant element do?
It acts as a filter in the A/C system, using a desiccant bag to remove moisture and contaminants that cannot be cleared by flushing. This kit ships as a filter drier desiccant bag with a plug.
Does it come with installation hardware?
Yes. Four Seasons includes the necessary gaskets, o-rings and seal for installation, and the kit comes with a plug.
Will this fit my vehicle?
It's a direct-fit replacement for many BMW and MINI models, including the 2014-2021 MINI Cooper / John Cooper Works and 2016-2020 BMW 750 Series. Check the Buyer's Guide tab for the full application list.
When should the drier be replaced?
Four Seasons states it must be replaced any time the A/C system is serviced, and its replacement is required to validate the compressor warranty.
Why can't a saturated desiccant bag just be flushed out?
The contaminants and moisture the desiccant holds cannot be removed by flushing. A leaking or open system can saturate the bag within a few hours, so the drier must be replaced instead.
