Description

Firm up a hard-working rear axle with the KYB shock absorber (P/N 5540022), a high-pressure monotube gas shock that installs as a direct-fit rear replacement for the 2014-2025 RAM 2500. This KYB gas shock absorber is a Gas-a-just monotube unit with valving developed specifically for Rams.

High-pressure monotube design: separates the gas and oil into distinct chambers for fade-free operation and instant response — an air-free hydraulic piston/valve area for control, plus a high-pressure nitrogen chamber with a floating piston.
Triple chrome-plated piston rod: an ultra-smooth rod finish helps reduce seal wear, since leaking fluid can be a cause of shock failure.
Added damping for work and towing: adds up to 25% more damping over original-equipment shocks, intended for trucks that work, tow, and run larger, heavier tires and wheels.
Supports vehicle systems: the higher gas pressure responds quickly to help steering response and helps keep electronic safety systems performing as the manufacturer intended.

Sold individually; replacing both rear shocks together as a matched pair is recommended for even, balanced damping.
