Firm up the rear ride of your full-size Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury with this KYB shock absorber, the Gas-a-just KG5556 — a high-pressure monotube gas shock that installs as a direct-fit rear replacement for the 1980-1988 Ford Thunderbird, 1982-1987 Lincoln Continental, 1984-1992 Lincoln Mark VII, and 1980-1988 Mercury Cougar.

• High-pressure monotube design: separates the gas and oil into two working chambers for fade-free operation and instant response — an air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for control, plus a high-pressure nitrogen area with a floating piston for a comfortable ride during normal driving.
• Triple chrome-plated piston rod: because fluid leaking can be a cause of shock failure, the ultra-smooth rod is designed to reduce seal wear.
• Up to 25% more damping over OE: this KYB gas shock absorber adds damping over the OE design for vehicles that work, tow, and run larger, heavier tires and wheels, and its higher gas pressure responds quickly to help improve steering response.
• Supports electronic safety systems: designed to help keep electronic safety systems performing as intended, since they rely on the suspension, brakes, and tires.
