This monotube design splits the gas and oil into two working chambers — an air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness and control, plus a high-pressure nitrogen gas chamber with a floating piston — so it resists fade from aeration and reacts instantly. As a KYB gas shock absorber, it is rated to add up to 25% more damping over original-equipment shocks, with extra support for vehicles that work, tow, or run larger, heavier tires and wheels.
