Spectra Premium A/C Condenser P/N:7-9080
Help keep cold air flowing from the vents with the Spectra Premium ac condenser, part number 7-4953, the heat exchanger that sheds the heat your A/C system pulls out of the cabin. It serves as a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, among them the 1999-2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 1999-2002 Chevrolet C1500; see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.
How it works: Refrigerant leaves the compressor as a hot, high-pressure vapor. As it passes through the condenser, air moving across the core draws heat away, turning the refrigerant into a high-pressure liquid before it continues through the rest of the system.
Signs a condenser may need replacing: A/C output that is warmer than normal, oily refrigerant residue on the core, or bent fins and damaged tubes from road debris. These symptoms can have other causes, so diagnose the system before replacing parts. Replacing a condenser requires refrigerant recovery, evacuation and recharge per the vehicle service information.
This condenser fits a wide range of Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Hummer trucks and SUVs. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list and engine details.
What does an A/C condenser do?
It releases heat from the refrigerant coming out of the compressor. As air passes over the core, the refrigerant cools from a high-pressure vapor into a high-pressure liquid.
