Standard Ignition Back Up Light Switch P/N:LS-273
Help your back-up lights come on when you shift into reverse with the Standard Ignition switch LS-291. This back-up light switch closes the circuit to the back-up lamps when the transmission is placed in reverse. It is a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, among them the 1990-1993 Volkswagen Jetta, 1981-1984 Volkswagen Rabbit Convertible and 1979 Volkswagen Dasher.
Signs this switch may need replacing include back-up lights that fail to come on in reverse, stay lit in other gears, or work only intermittently. A blown bulb, a fuse, or a wiring fault can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the circuit before replacing the switch. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine and application details.
