- Reinforced polyester body: Made of high dielectric strength, glass/mineral reinforced polyester resin. Standard uses it for less carbon tracking and greater resistance to electrical breakdown.
- RFI resistors where specified: Standard fits RFI resistors where the application calls for them. They are designed to help suppress radio static and voltage spikes that could damage the ECU.
- Solid brass terminals where available: Where used, the brass terminals are intended to make better connections and resist electrical pitting and corrosion.
If you are shopping for a distributor cap for a 1985-1992 Volvo 740, watch for signs that a cap may need replacing. These include cracks, carbon tracks inside the cap, corroded or worn terminals, misfires, hard starting, and rough running, especially in damp weather. These symptoms can have other causes, so diagnose the ignition system before replacing parts.
