Distributor Cap for 1968-1977 Porsche 911 & More - Standard Ignition GB-424

It is a direct-fit replacement for many Alfa Romeo, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volvo models. These include the 1962-1968 Alfa Romeo 2600, 1968-1971 BMW 2500 and 1968-1977 Porsche 911. The distributor cap covers the top of the distributor. It carries high-voltage current from the rotor to each spark plug wire terminal, so every cylinder receives its spark in firing order.

• Quality control from start to finish: Standard Ignition is a global manufacturer of original equipment ignition products. It controls quality from the individual components through to the finished product and draws on decades of research and development.
• Reinforced cap material: The cap is made of high dielectric strength, glass/mineral reinforced polyester resin. This material is designed for less carbon tracking and greater resistance to electrical breakdown.
• RFI resistors where specified: Where an application calls for them, RFI resistors are included to help suppress radio static and potentially ECU-damaging voltage spikes.
• Solid brass terminals where available: These terminals are designed to make better connections and to resist electrical pitting and corrosion.

Signs a distributor cap may need replacing: cracks, carbon tracks or corroded terminals inside the cap, engine misfires, hard starting or rough running. These symptoms can have other causes, so diagnose the ignition system before replacing parts.
