It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 2007-2010 Volvo S80 and the 2005-2011 Volvo XC90, both with the V8-4.4L engine. In a distributorless ignition system, this 12-volt coil steps up battery voltage to fire the spark plug; if a failed coil is the cause of a misfire on its cylinder, this replaces it.
