Four Seasons 54991 A/C evaporator core for the 1995-1997 Subaru Legacy cools cabin air by absorbing heat as refrigerant flows through it. The core design meets or exceeds OE performance and efficiency.
Weak cooling, a musty smell from the vents or oily residue near the A/C connections can be tied to a leaking evaporator core, but a compressor or charge problem may look the same. Before replacing the core, look over the visible A/C lines and fittings with the engine off, and leave leak testing to a shop.
This evaporator core is a direct-fit replacement for the 1995-1997 Subaru Legacy.
