Why replace it during service: Contaminants held in the drier can't be cleared by flushing the system. A leaking or open system can saturate the desiccant bag within a few hours, which leaves the drier ineffective. Four Seasons calls for replacing the drier any time the A/C system is serviced, and replacement is required to validate its compressor warranty.
Consider replacing the receiver drier when the A/C system has been opened for repair or left open to the air, when the compressor is replaced, or when moisture contamination is found during service.
