Gain extra clearance between your plug boots and tubular headers with the ACCEL U-Groove Spark Plug Header Plug, part number 8199. This shorty spark plug fits many vehicles, among them the 1975-1996 Ford F-150 with the V8-5.0L and the 1977-1987 Ford F-150 with the V8-5.8L. It also fits the 1970-1976 Buick Electra V8-7.5L, the 1982-1993 Ford Mustang V8-5.0L and many more vehicles. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.

This ACCEL spark plug is ACCEL's patented, race-proven design in a Shorty configuration. Its overall length is 3/16 in. to 3/8 in. shorter than an OE-style plug, depending on the specific plug. The shorter length adds air gap between the spark plug boot and the exhaust manifold or header tube, which helps prevent burned plug boots and dimpled header tubes. The shorter body can also make installation and removal easier where there is little room for a socket or wrench.

  • Copper core center electrode: ACCEL notes that copper conducts better than platinum or iridium. It is also much better at dissipating heat, which lessens the chance of a misfire.
  • Gapable: the listed gap is 0.032 in. You can open the gap to expose a larger flame kernel, or close it when needed for high-boost applications.
  • Machine-rolled threads: designed for more precise thread engagement and torque retention.
  • Specs: 14mm thread, 0.460 in. reach, tapered seat, 5/8 in. (0.625 in.) hex, projected tip, resistor type.

The package contains 8 spark plugs and is listed as 2 of ACCEL part number 0576S-4. Country of origin: Czech Republic.
