APEX Automobile Parts Inc Engine Crankshaft Seal Kit P/N:ABS333
Stop engine oil from weeping past the back of the crankshaft with the APEX Automobile Parts Inc Engine Crankshaft Seal Kit (ABS100). This rear main seal set installs as a direct-fit replacement for a wide range of Honda, Acura and Isuzu inline-four applications, including the 1984-2005 Honda Civic 1.3L / 1.5L / 1.6L / 1.7L and the 1984-2002 Honda Accord 1.8L / 2.0L / 2.2L / 2.3L — see the Buyer's Guide tab for the complete list of applications and their engine codes.
A hardened or torn rear main seal can let oil leak at the back of the engine, often appearing as drips near the bellhousing or fresh spots under the vehicle after it sits. If a failed rear main seal is the cause of your leak, this set replaces it.
What is the APEX ABS100?
It's APEX's rear main seal set — an engine crankshaft seal kit that seals the rear of the crankshaft to keep engine oil contained inside the block.
Which vehicles does it fit?
It fits many Honda, Acura and Isuzu L4 applications, such as the 1984-2005 Honda Civic 1.3L / 1.5L / 1.6L / 1.7L and 1984-2002 Honda Accord 1.8L / 2.0L / 2.2L / 2.3L. Check the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.
Where is this seal located?
It sits at the rear of the engine, sealing where the crankshaft exits the back of the block behind the flywheel or flexplate area.
What are signs the rear main seal may need replacing?
Common signs include oil seeping at the back of the engine, drips near the bellhousing, or fresh oil spots after the car sits. Diagnose the source first, since other gaskets can leak too.
Does this seal rotate with the crankshaft?
No. The seal body stays stationary in its bore while its sealing lip rides against the rotating crankshaft.
