APEX Automobile Parts Inc Engine Crankshaft Seal Kit P/N:ABS275
$36.99

Seal the back of the crankshaft where it exits the engine block with the APEX Automobile Parts Inc Crankshaft Seal Kit, MPN ABS275. This rear-position rear main seal set replaces the worn factory seal at the rear of the crankshaft, where the crankshaft turns as it passes out of the block toward the bell housing. The seal body stays stationary while its lip rides against the rotating crankshaft to keep engine oil from escaping. It fits a broad range of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM applications, including the 2011-2022 Ram 1500 5.7L / 6.2L, 2005-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L / 6.1L / 6.2L / 6.4L and 2003-2010 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L — see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.

  • Rear main crankshaft seal: seals the rear crankshaft opening on the listed applications.
  • Rear position: installs at the rear of the crankshaft, between the block and the transmission side.
  • One per application: quantity per application is 1.

If a leaking rear main seal is the source of oil pooling at the back of the engine or dripping near the bell housing, this kit replaces it. Diagnose the source of any leak before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this engine crankshaft seal kit do?

It replaces the rear main seal at the back of the crankshaft, where the crankshaft exits the block. The seal keeps engine oil from escaping past the rotating crankshaft toward the transmission side.

Will this fit my vehicle?

It fits many Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM applications with the L4-2.4L, V8-5.7L, V8-6.1L, V8-6.2L and V8-6.4L engines. Check the Buyer's Guide tab for your exact year, model and engine.

What are the signs of a failing rear main seal?

Signs may include oil pooling at the back of the engine, drips near the bell housing, or oil spots under the rear of the engine. Confirm the source before replacing.

How many seals do I need per vehicle?

Quantity per application is 1, so the listed applications use one kit.
