Signs that a head gasket may need replacing include unexplained coolant loss, overheating, white smoke from the exhaust, coolant mixing with the oil, or low compression on a cylinder. Other faults can cause these symptoms, so diagnose the engine first. If a failed head gasket is the cause, AHG470L replaces the left-side gasket.
Replacing a head gasket is an involved job. Follow the vehicle service information for surface preparation, the head bolt torque sequence and specifications, and whether the head bolts may be reused.
