ATP Automatic Transmission Flexplate P/N:Z-167
Keep the engine crankshaft and torque converter turning together with the ATP Automatic Transmission Flexplate Z-166. It installs as a direct-fit replacement across a long list of GM cars, vans, and trucks, including the 1986-1998 Chevrolet Astro, 1987-1998 Chevrolet Blazer, 1988-1999 Chevrolet C1500, 1985-1993 Chevrolet Caprice, 1992-1993 Buick Roadmaster, 1990-1992 Cadillac Brougham, 1999-2000 Cadillac Escalade, and 1996-2002 Chevrolet Express 1500 — see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of 133 applications.
What it does: The flexplate bolts to the rear of the engine crankshaft and links it to the automatic transmission's torque converter, carrying engine torque into the transmission.
Signs a flexplate may need replacing include a grinding or whirring noise when starting, an intermittent no-crank when the starter can't grab the ring-gear teeth, or a rattling/knocking vibration from the bellhousing area. If a cracked flexplate or damaged ring gear is the cause, this replaces it; diagnose the cause before replacing.

This part cross-references / interchanges with the following part numbers:
What does the ATP Z-166 flexplate do?
It bolts to the rear of the engine crankshaft and connects it to the automatic transmission's torque converter, transmitting engine torque; its ring gear also gives the starter teeth to crank the engine.
What vehicles does this flexplate fit?
It's a direct-fit replacement for 133 GM applications, including the 1986-1998 Chevrolet Astro and 1988-1999 Chevrolet C1500. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.
What are signs of a failing flexplate?
A grinding noise at start-up, an intermittent no-crank, or a rattle from the bellhousing area can point to a cracked flexplate or worn ring-gear teeth. Diagnose the cause before replacing.
Which part numbers does this replace?
Interchanges include FW96860, G142, FA101, FA101HD, XF73, 33636, GM142, GM183, 4310, 10128414, 14088761, 409780, AA-G142, 6005062, 6005153, FY71, FRA159, 4161047, 99761, and V508.
Is this used with an automatic transmission?
Yes — a flexplate connects the crankshaft to the torque converter on an automatic transmission, whereas a manual transmission uses a flywheel instead.
