This LEFT-side kit installs as an application-specific replacement for the 1988-1989 Mazda 929, 1990-1995 Mazda Miata, 1999-2003 Mazda Protege, 2002-2003 Mazda Protege5, 1999-2013 Suzuki Grand Vitara, and 2002-2006 Suzuki XL-7 — see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level details. The bellows boot seals the inner tie rod and rack against contamination; a cracked or torn original boot lets grit and water reach the rack, so if a failed boot is the cause of that contamination, this kit replaces it.
